^While Chicago had a lot of those megafests that simply got too big to be enjoyed, they also had a ton of street and neighborhood fests. You could go to the Bucktown Arts Fair one weekend, the Lincoln Square street fair the next, then Roscoe Village would have one and Pilsen would have an arts fair etc. etc. I really do miss that neighborhood feel.

Seems like the biggest festival I hear about here is the Ren Fest. I'll admit it here: I don't get the whole renaissance thing. And wowza, tickets are pricey!

Forgot about ethnic fest. That's a decent food festival. For some reason, that is sort of a secret in KC. Most people don't know about it, yet for its low profile, it draws very well.

I'm suprised Summerfest doesn't get the national attention it should, it's the worlds largest music festival, if this thing was in LA or NY you would here about it all the time.

Plus Milwaukee has all these ethnic festivals right after summerfest, it really makes summer in Milwaukee a great place to be.

I bought my tickets when they went on sale this morning. I bought two tickets for my wife and I for $327. I cannot wait for this event. I havent been to a festival since the last year of Wakarusa here.

I really hope that law enforcement doesnt ruin this festival like they did Wakarusa and chase it off. This could bring a ton of money to KCK and the entire metro area along with a lot of exposure.

Yes, I meant 100K

Ticket prices arent that high. $159 is the initial price and that is on par with standard festival prices but you get free camping when most festivals charge extra for it. If you were to see all these bands at concerts it would cost you over a thousand bucks.

See, now that I would spend money to see!

There's just no one band I really care too much about to spend that kind of money. It's a little all over the place right?

A good music festival will get a little bit of everything.

Muse alone is damn near the price of admission. They are the biggest band in the world right now. They sold out their European tour in less than 10 minutes and that included 100k stadiums. They put on a show that is compared to U2 and Pink Floyd.
