According to Billboard magazine, May 17, 1947, John Stevens brothers owned and operated the M.S. White Candy Company on Lexington Street plus other similar stores in the area.

My wife worked briefly for White Candy when it was located on Main, just south of Kansas. That was in 1969 or 1970.

I had a friend that lived on Kansas just one or two houses west of the tracks and I don't recall any bridge on Kansas. As I recall the person I knew moved from Kansas address in approximately 1952 or 1953.

That is what people keep telling me, chuckle.

I have heard more than once that something remarkable occurred here at one time.

Where is Congressional Township 49, Range 32, SW Section 2 and what happened there?
Mightest thou be referring to a most un-Civil War battle? The same locale was the scene of a later crime spree (allegedly).

I am not sure what is being referred to in either case, but would like to hear about both. I was thinking more of an emergence.

In the most SW portion of that tract part of the Battle of Independence took place, on what is now the Campus and campground. Also on that portion was the Swope Mansion, scene of several alleged murders.

The Stone Arch Bridge is left-center. Just east of it is Webb Castle, north of that is Mount Washington Cemetery.

I'm curious, what emerged there? Might that be a reference to one of the springs, which emerged from the ground near the old mill?

One of the definitions of emergence is birth.

The two items you mentioned earlier occurred in 1862/64 and 1909.

The springs emerging is anyone's guess.

What I am referring to occurred in 1827.
