I have never been on Cliff Drive in Kansas City.

I do recall when working at Cascio's Super Market on Highway 40 in Independence of hearing stories of mafia body dumps made along that road.

The city closed Cliff Drive for a number of years due to maintenance issues. A few years ago they did refurbish and reopen it, and so far it has escaped infamy.

The 2014 Gleaner Combine formerly manufactured at Pacific and Cottage Streets in Independence, now manufactured by AGCO in Hesston, Ks, a town of almost 4,000 people about forty miles north of Wichita.

Good grief, that's a combine? Looks more like a moonwalker or hi tech military vehicle

Don't know the price but a 2013 model was selling for $290,000 in Mount Hope, Kansas, about 30 miles northwest of Wichita.

In 1947, Lyle Yost founded Hesston Manufacturing Company. The company specialized in farm equipment, including self-propelled windrowers and the StakHand hay harvester. In 1974, Hesston Company commissioned its first belt buckles, which became popular on the rodeo circuit and with collectors. In 1991, the American-based equipment manufacturer AGCO Corporation purchased Hesston Corporation and farm equipment is still manufactured in the city.

It seems to me that sometime in the 80's, Independence was mildly in the running, or wanted to be in the running, or was thinking about being in the running for the location of a GM automobile plant in eastern Independence for the Saturn cars. It seems to me that someplace in Tennessee, maybe, was finally selected.

Does anyone remember any thing about that?
