This one shouldn't be too hard. Sorry about the quality, it was taken sometime in the '40's.

No sepia tone, nor flip, just an anonymous street scene from 1988.

My Beloved used to swim there. We met while working at an establishment along the southern border of this property.

In the left of the first photo, I saw a car parked on what I thought was the steep drive of a former girl friend's parent's house. I always marveled as to how they managed to get up and down that slippery slope during ice and snow. Then I realized the terrain did not match but I recognized the white house on the corner in the second photo. Never did know anyone who lived there and never was in it but it stood out in my memory.

That girlfriend actually lived on the west side of Kiger about 200 feet further south from Sea Street in the photo.

I don't remember it as the BBQ place, so that must not have lasted very long. We did eat there when it was George Lindsey's. Later it was Jim & Sue's Family Restaurant before they divorced. Then it became (just) Jim's Family Restaurant. He later moved west to a building just east of Sterling Bowl.

That could be Doutt's Lake.

However, I was never there in my life until earlier this year when I drove by from a distance.

If this is on Highway 24 next to the Truman Library, it was constructed originally as Howard Johnson's restaurant--28 flavors of ice cream. Never ate there.

Did you ever take photos when the leaves were on the trees?

Of course, I just don't share those as often! Here's proof!
