Welcome back Pearjas! Things have been a bit slow around here. Do you have any discoveries to liven things up? We certainly need a topic other than that one to occupy our minds.

WOW! This place is as empty as the Square is these days!

I hope everyone is staying safe and well. Best to all!

Still kicking, although in a very limited venue! I'm guessing everyone is busy hunting down TP or watching parody videos on YouTube.

Today I'm browsing through an The Examiner issue from November 29, 1956. I noticed there were lots of neighborhood markets advertising:

Jerry's Market 1621 N Liberty
Walnut Park Market 332 E South Ave
L. E. Wisemore Market 614 W South Ave
Osage Market 1300 S Osage
Fred Eckinger's Market 23rd & Crysler

Maywood Super Market 10205 E Truman
Powell Cook Grocery 212 W Maple
Fairway Super Market 801 E Alton
Carvers Market 9900 E 23rd
Frank's Drive-In Market River Blvd & 24 Hiway
Inter-City Super Market 8501 Winner Road

In contrast to the small ads from the neighborhood markets is a back page full page ad for "Kansas City's Largest Food Store" covering an entire acre with 8 acres of free parking. It was located at 6201 Independence Ave. A few years later it had an Independence store.

Your assignment, while maintaining proper distancing, is to name that market.

Nope, they were already at 24 Hiway & Dodgion at that time, along with a store on the Square.
