As for rain sensor? Never seems to work for me.

I would check to see if it is hooked up
Seems ours wasn't

So far I have recorded over 12" of rain in the rain gauge

This amount of rain does give you the perfect chance to see what areas of your lawn are "low"

Rain, rain go away
Come to play another day
Rog and Barb are coming down
Surely we don't want them to drown!

Rain sensors: Connect them to your garage door opener to close the door. Of course if it's already closed it will open it so you need a delimiter switch to tell the rain sensor it's open, not closed. Voila!

I've often thought a timing mechanism would be a good idea for garage doors. You open the door and it will only stay open for 5 minutes (or have an adjustable timer). Place it on a switch so you can turn off the unit when you want it to stay open. Delimiter switch again...

My yard is flooded in certain areas. I am sure to loose a few plants like I did during Faye. I hope we get a break soon.

I left a bucket out in the yard and as of wednesday morning it was overflowing. It's not official but it is atleast 12" deep. Dumped it last night as I staked up my hibiscus in the rain. This morning I went out to check my tomatoes (in the rain) and I found some chewed leaves and some tiny catepillar things. Bucket was half full again. I was able to pull a couple off before it started to pour again. I turned off my irrigation system completely as I don't think I'll be needing it for a while. The wetland/preserve area in the backyard is flooded. Atleast my husband now has his "beach entry" he always wanted. When the rain lets up I'm going to bring in my little bouganvilla I just bought and try to save some branches that the wind snapped. The dog is so depressed she has only been out 15 minutes in the last 4 days!

We grimly slogged through the rain with our dogs, but it's not as if we had any playtime outside.
I am not sure my tomatoes will make it, they were both chewed and drowned.
But my tree fern is happy--and the sun has finally come out!
