If it's an outboard no problem. If it's an I/O or a straight Inboard, I would make sure the anti freeze is topped off and still in date.(changed every year or two) Another freeze point is if there's a raw water sea ****/wash down pump. Unless your sinking there shouldn't be enough water in your bilge area to freeze up and crack anything, like a bulkhead. My boat sits on the trailer year round right now, all I do is remove the batteries(all 4) when it's not going to be used for extended periods of time.(2-3 months or so)

It's an I/O. Do you start your engine at all during our winter months? I go over to the storage at least once a month, put the muffs on the drive, start up the engine and let it warm up to op temp.

I don't start mine up, because I have triple outboards, I do add fuel stabilizer to the gas though (and run them for about 15 minutes to circulate it)as thats very important. With an I/O you should check the antifreeze and also add the fuel stabilizer so your carbs don't get gummed up. Outboards dont have any internal fluids like O/I's(car engine) do.

It's gonna smell more than normal too because it's going to be blowing all that fragrant air from Brunswick and St. Marys straight down into Jax. Oh, and one more thing, I actually drove down 95 today from Florence, SC and there was a HUGE forest fire between Savannah and Brunswick. Let me tell you that was some SWEET smelling air. Fire smoke mixed with paper mill smoke. Get ready Jax!!!

39° is a heat wave compared to the 22° that some areas of Jax are reported to have gotten. Down here on the river in Avondale it was 35° when I woke up this morning at 6AM was up to 37° when I started my photo walk and all the way up to 39° when I got back home at 9 AM. Not much wind on the river so that helped. Feels like it's about 45° out right now. Starting to perspire it's so warm out....NOT!

This morning at 6:30AM, it was 32 degrees at the airport! It was around 35 down here in the Baymeadows area. Local news said that a jacket would be needed........a jacket?? When we lived south of Denver, CO and it was 35 degrees in the AM, we wore our winter parkas to work!
Anyway, we knew it was cold cause my knee and wife's arm were letting us know (arthritis). One of the "downfalls" of being old (over 60).
