I was reading some of the threads here and some of the stories kinda upset me. I start to thinking about all the history in The United States and how the blessings, rights and opportunities we have today were fought for and how so many people sacrificed their lives to keep us as a stable nation that is home to great universities, opportunity, great companies and a developed way of living. Then I realize how all of these illegal immigrants are just marching in, leaping over fences, going through underground tunnels to just come in, sneak in, have no respect for those things that I have mentioned before. How can our government even think about just handing things over to them? Especially when it means denying a legal resident or citizen of their natural rights? What does it even mean to be "American" anymore? It's obvious that within the next 10 - 50 years, things are going to be ridiculous and it is all being forced. I could understand if it was a natural change, but it is being assisted by illegal immigration and our government's lack of action.

So, do you feel that what it means to be a legal resident or natural born citizen of the U.S. is being crapped on? They try to encourage us and ask us to be patriotic when we are at war, you see US flags in the background of The President's speeches, and pretty much all over government materials and buildings, but aren't they the very ones that are taking that meaning away from us and dilluting what it means to be a US citizen and permanent resident.

looking for work in a meltdown economy. clearly this is an anti labor movement which american labor has ignored. why? american labor is anti labor.
illegals go home. one thing you have reminded us of, banding together you have a voice you can make demands on the government and employers and get them met. you have even done this is someone else's country. while we whine on CDF and use of mastercard to feed our kids.

The politcians are bought and paid for by the cheap labor corporations. They don't "love" illegals but they love the corporation donations and of course the easy votes.

The problem is, the politicians are not working for the American people, they are not trying to increase employment of Americans, they care nothing about increasing wages, our standard of living. Americans are inconvenient. They want a more pliable kind of voter, and of course unlimited cheap labor for their beloved corporations and elites.

Don't we have bigger fish to fry than harping about "illegal immigrants"? How many of those who are so worked up about this are in jeopardy of losing their job to an "illegal immigrant" from Mexico? Additionally, how many would willingly work that $7 an hour (or worse) job all of these immigrants are taking? Hell, high school kids won't even take them anymore. How about focusing on the corporations who move jobs to other countries, taking away $15-$20 an hour jobs that many here would gladly work? Though I guess that would be Anti-Redneck American to go after someone who's not helpless.

Wait until the unemployment checks start running out. You may hate and despise Americans with everything you have, but who is signing up for military duty where the pay isn't high at all?

Do you even realize what the unemployment rate in the US is? And hint - it's significantly higher than the unemployment rate in Mexico.

Illegal immigration is among the biggest fish to fry in this country when you consider all the problems it brings that have been pointed out in here numerous times and proven with viable statistics.

I already know several people who have lost their construction jobs to illegal aliens and other blue collar jobs that used to pay a decent wage. I know of many American youth who cannot get a job in a fast food restaurant because they are being monopolized by Spanish speaking illegals. They would be thrilled to get a $7 an hour job anywhere. You are wrong that our youth won't take those jobs. They just can't get them because of the above.

Of course outsourcing is also a problem but we need to focus on ALL of the problems and causes of the loss of American jobs and illegal immigration is one of the main factors. Outsourcing usually affects middle class Americans but illegal immigration affects less educated, blue collar American workers and our youth.

Your "redneck" remark speaks volumes.

I think the government is a little slow at adopting E-verify and requiring it for all employers. There is really no legitimate reason for holding that up. Other than that no, I don't feel stabbed in the back.

And; these days, a $10 an hour in parts of the Midwest looks pretty damn good.

If it makes me a 'Redneck' being against illegal immigration----------I will henceforth carry that label with pride
