Read just the first paragraph. Not surprisingly, the disease largely just ravages other immigrants (legal or otherwise) that have to live, work and sleep next to each other with great frequency.
I would suggest thinking with some compassion about what these types of diseases do to legal and illegal immigrants and we have some duty to keep that stuff out of the country.
There are a number of diseases making a comeback in the US due to a combination of anti-vaxers and exposure to 3rd world countries or their citizens.
Oh yeah, by all means blame everything on visitors, either legal or otherwise, but ignore the fastest growing group of infections are sexually transmitted types such as HIV, chlamydia, gonorrhea, syphilis etc., and is among the age group 15 to 25 and they are failing to seek treatment!
Hundreds upon hundreds of thousands of people come into this country every year. Vistors from all over the world. None of them are screened and any one could have a whole host of diseases. A two week stay here, and back home doesn't protect you or others from being exposed. Even Americans traveling abroad can and are exposed.
Keep out whom ever you wish, just remember diseases are not a "whom".
I don't think anyone here is ignorant of that fact. However, we have untold millions living here who did not go through the screening process, and more enter daily. Mind you, unlike visitors, countless illegals are picking the crops we eat, or are working in restaurants. Do you actually not consider this a valid concern?
