They are saying these low wage workers are screwed. That's what they are saying. Once made legal they will want to immediately up the economic ladder.

All those people hanging outside of home depot will be making your burger at McDonalds now. Since the current workers can't/won't move up it doesn't look pretty.

The Gang of Eight is saying this?

Herman Cain couldn't have won a race for dog catcher. That said--you just made my point. Most of the tea party talk was to try to rile up a base because they thought it would win them votes. Now that they've started to figure out that a good chunk of people--including many republicans--think they're extremists, suddenly their tune changes. It should change--it's either that or completely destroy the party. They've already done it serious harm, and it don't think the R's will recover from it quickly.

what they are saying, IN CLEAR LANGUAGE, is that they do not give a dam* about american workers or even legal immigrants- about job opportunities, a living wage, or about economic improvement.

you wind up with even more people who need extra "help"-families that have too many children they cannot afford, people who can't speak the language and need help, people who have different customs and have trouble assimilating (wake up and look at france), people who slow down classes because they can't comprehend what is being taught, (taking time away from actually moving on), families that never heard of birth control or their religion disapproves, and families who like freebies as much as the next person.

i can't say i blame them for wanting free stuff (it is, after all, human nature) but i certainly blame our own pathetic government which is just trying to make a quick buck with pathway fees for now.

our representatives are traitors to the working class, but then again they don't work-so how would they understand?

they actually think that bailouts and printing money are good for the people.

If McCain, who is a Republican member in the Gang Of 8, says GOP needs the Latino vote, then Oldglory can have his/her opinon, but that opinon is not shared by the GOP.

That's 11 million more people marking "Hispanic" on their applications, and they will benefit greatly at the expense of poor white workers and students whose families fought at Normandy, Saigon, Gettysburg, Korea, etc. Any working class white (or black) who supports this is unaware of the economic impact and increased competition for low wage jobs this will bring. These invaders aren't engineer, doctor, or lawyer material. These people are the underclass of Mexico.

As for white liberals and big business, if they disagree with this amnesty they need their heads checked. This is great news for the elites.

Aren't they already working those low paid jobs? If that is the case, then how will this Gang-8 agenda change the situation for the "white" people?

They haven't started to figure out that a good chunk of people think they're extremists. They're responding to relentless Democrat propaganda about the Tea Party. The end result may be the same, but your way of characterizing the situation makes it sound like it was a gradual mass realization that these Tea Party people are fanatics. That isn't so. The Tea Party steadily grew in popularity and strength until it became a force to be reckoned with, at which point liberals swung into motion to demonize it. And, just as with their demonization of men, whites, and rich people, they eventually swung public opinion.

The pillars of this approach are perfectly reasonable. I look forward to seeing the details of this plan.
