Is Atlanta Bread really a bakery? I thought it was just a Panera Bread type of place.

The Moon - hadn't heard of that one.

Canadian Bakin - that place looks good.

Atlanta Bread Company is a Panera copycat.

May have been the goal from the get go.
Think Clift Farms and Town Madison are completely out of his lane in terms of experience, planning, and execution. He's primarily been focused on developing residential communities in North Alabama and the Gulf Coast for the majority of his career.

I'm not sure why he didn't hand off some or all of the retail leasing and development to other more qualified companies rather than just getting them to assist in planning. The whole east side of the development seems almost devoid of any concrete plan at the moment with the exception of expanded residential and hotel space.

Breland's an investor in Ball Corps, LLC., who owns the Trash Pandas, so he's tied into the success of the club to a degree. He would lose some money on that front, but the big loser if this development fails is the city of Madison. They've got $40+ million invested in the stadium alone and owe Breland for infrastructure and roads for another $15-25 million depending on what else gets built.

I would say it's bothersome that he declined to move forward with the westbound ingress/egress ramps after the bid letting closed in February. That represents a huge problem for getting people into and out of the development from Huntsville and points east.

Agreed. On the plus side the Trash Panda organization is top notch and professional from top to bottom from all indications. They will be successful despite possible hurdles to clear.
Also a good bit of blame can be contributed to Covid-19.
Hopefully recovery will be swift and robust but we are not there yet and probably won’t be until next year.

Even if the Trash Pandas do not play until 2021 if work does not get started soon the development won't be ready even by then. If Breland does not have the area ready what excuse could he use?

When Breland was named as behind the development and I found out that it would have a major housing element, I was convinced that was their main objective. I just look over there as I'm driving by and see the housing units getting built and everyday it kind of cements my opinion of Breland. They are a housing developer, not much else.

Likely COVID-19.. They've been using the weather as an excuse the past several years, even though there was a lengthy dry spell last summer

These are the acceptable reasons for infrastructure project delays from the Madison funding agreement:

Quote:
(1) acts of God,
(2) flood, fire or explosion,
(3) war, invasion, riot or other civil unrest,
(4) governmental order or law,
(5) actions, embargoes or blockades in effect on or after the date of this Amendment,
(6) action or inaction by any governmental authority on Project approvals,
(7) national or regional emergency,
(8) strikes, labor stoppages or slowdowns or other industrial disturbances,
(9) shortage of adequate power or transportation facilities, or
(10) the District’s inability to secure financing for the Project on commercially reasonable terms.
This may only apply to the Phase II I565 ramps, but #7 will obviously be used for the past few months, and it seems like they could use #10 to drag their feet as long as they want.

Was there ever a chance that place was going to be ready for this season? It sure doesn't look like it. They are probably thankful Covid 19 delayed the opening and gave them more time. While we are talking about the baseball stadium, does anyone have connections and could mention to them that the letters in "Field" being misaligned makes the entire development look half assed? Those letters being misaligned have been discussed for a few months now but they still have not been re-positioned. At this point it is starting to look like they are going to let it slide and it will forever be sloppy and tacky looking.

Regarding #7, construction projects were considered essential and not affected by the virus.

And #10, Aren't the 565 ramps and flyovers supposed to be funded by Breland, not state or local government?
