A new theme park would have to go to a place with cheap land.

Why not build it in Winnie, Texas?

Because they have already chosen to build it in New Caney.

Winnie would be quite a haul too, especially from the west side of Houston. Distance-wise it'd be like taking this New Caney site and moving it out to Cleveland or Shepherd.

Why doesn't Houston have a coaster park, anyway? It certainly has the population for it, and as a hub for both Southwest and Continental it's easy to get to. I agree the LA area has it great, having both Magic Mountain and Knott's Berry Farm.

I wish they would have built the park off 288 south between Pearland and Angleton. That would have been perfect!

does anyone remember Busch Gardens over off 610 near Budweiser ? Back then we had two really great theme parks...now nothing but Splashtown.

Is there a source that says they are building one in New Caney?

Not the only one. The wal-mart near me at Westview and BW8 is a non super walmart and it sucks. No groceries and limited supply of other stuff. I grew up in a town with a real super wal-mart. This one I don't even consider a wal-mart and I go there rarely. It's a bummer to me because I happen to like walmart... where else can I go and get a gallon of motor oil, roll of duct tape, can of spray paint, some camping stuff, groceries, toiletries, and a blu-ray movie in one stop? Yea some of it is junk, but you don't have to buy everything there, even though you could.

What are they going to do with the AstroDome ? Why not try to turn it or the land into some kind of park ? Or would it not be a large enough peice of land ?
