Could be a possibility. So many projects and transportation projects will be complete by 2020:

Expo 2020 Houston

It's a world's fair huh?

Not to be a Debbie Downer, but if they're trying to bring this back to the US, I'll bet another city gets this one. The same way the olympics went down.

That would be great for Houston but would never happen unless the city really improves its infrastructure. That means more transit, more sidewalks, more parks, etc. The city, state and feds would have to spend a lot of more in infrastructure improvement.

That was the huge problem with Atlanta and the Olympics in 1996. The relied heavily on buses and the roads were jammed (even more than normal), people were late and because Atlanta had such a measly transit system for a city of its size, people had no other option. It was a mess.

I was down in Houston for a meeting recently and forgot how isolated you can be in that city without a car. I tried to walk somewhere and almost got run over because the sidewalks were non existent.

^^Well, it will be in 2020, so a ton of METRO's transit work will be done.

Awesome attitude!!

Even places like San Antonio have hosted a World's Fair. Houston can, too.
