I still live relatively close (New Caney) and my church and friends are in the HKA (Humble/Kingwood/Atascocita) area, so I'm there a lot. The traffic has actually gotten worse since I left in August of 2015 because the area is growing and growing, but the infrastructure hasn't kept up to support to influx of people. I do believe that they're expanding 1960 from 59 to West Lake Houston, but that's going to take a while. They're also connecting Woodland Hills Drive to the Beltway, so that will alleviate the traffic as well.

Have you looked into Fall Creek? It's in Humble, off of the Beltway on Wilson Road. Very nice community with an awesome water park pool for kids and it's a straight shot onto Atascocita Road.
