Another vote for Captain Tom! Every dish there is good.

For an amazing indulgence, Pappadeaux's fried shrimp are among the best I have found anywhere. I am always torn when I go there - because the crab-topped fish filets are also so very good. Fortunately, Mrs. Watchful and I have worked out a plan to order both entrees and make our own combos!

If you are going for fried shrimp twice a week, you might want to be a little more price sensitive, but you will not regret a trip to Pappadeaux.

Seriously, if you order the shrimp and do not like them, please wrap them up and FedEx them to me.

Now I'm hoping you DON'T like them.

Multiple locations - Pappas Seafood House is also great - so if they are closer, just do that!

From 17.95 to 24.95 with fries depending on how many shrimp you get. The loaded baked potatoes are worth the upgrade IMHO.

15.95 at lunchtime.

You can even get Pappadeaux at the DFW and IAH airports - making a long layover into a joy!

I will second Kelly's. But another low key place is the Fountainview fish market.

That's a bummer. I guess it's been maybe 4 years since i was there, and i can still remember them to this day (in a good way).

I love Pappadeaux like crazy. But I'm not a fan of their fried shrimp. I like the lobster

Agreed, Pappadeaux fried shrimp are nothing special for $24.95. There are dozens of places around for great, fresh fried shrimp in the $10-$15 range.

Another vote for the Fountainview Fish Market, I just had their fried oyster/shrimp combo (6 of each, with fries was $9.99) and it was very good. I've also had the fish, very good as well. The handling/cooking process is in full view, and I like seeing the shrimp and fish hand seasoned and prepared.

Folks on Yelp seem to like them pretty well, that's where I got the idea to visit in the first place.

Lotus Seafood Market is another good one for seafood. It's smack dab in the middle of the 'hood but don't let that scare you away.

Depends on where the OP wants to drive & how fancy a place they want. The best I've found are at The Fish Place in Dickinson on Highway 3. $12 for 10 shrimp & 2 great sides. Pier 8 in Seabrook is good if you like to sit outside by the water.
