There are some Republicans out in the suburbs. The city itself is mostly Democrat.

What does the professional dress code or lack of one have to do with the affordability of housing in Houston? Do higher property values lead to stricter dress codes ?

Attire doesn't matter one bit although I do like the business causal environment of areas in the city not in downtown. What matters is the office environment, the young urban culture and social mobility. I've found the scene and work environment in cities like LA, NYC, DC and Boston to be just rat races dominated by A type overly competitive prestige mongers who live and breathe by the latest trends. I gues its cus Houston is very practical town. The top jobs are mostly engineering, accounting, medical, logistics, etc. There's less ego then in the cities where creative jobs are more in common.

Remember when affordability was our main concern ? Attitudes can change in a hurry can't they. It was just last May I posted this thread about a article in the Houston Chronicle about soaring home prices. Is it possible that we are concerned about affordability and depreciation at the same time
