You mentioned "at our age" but what does that mean? Now a days that could be from 40 to 60 and again nowadays people in their 40s-early 50s are the ones with elementary age kids running around so do you want that?

The 60 somethings I know sure don't want to live within blocks of people still carting around kids not old enough to drive. The driving ones are usually at friends houses, lol.
No, but we have been thinking of Fostering children. Also if we are in a better school district the real estate values usually hold longer. I wouldn't want to have to move for 10 years.

We're in our 50's but we are both very athletic and fit. We would LOVE to have more children and besides fostering, we are thinking of adopting.

We lived in Orange County when we first moved to CA. I don't mind Asians, they are pretty cool people. Some weren't very friendly but I think that had more to do with culture and the fact they didn't speak English or Spanish. I'm in LA for goodness sake! LOL My golf partner is Japanese as is my sister's daughter!

I've heard of The Woodlands however it may be a long drive from the area where the job is located. it's on Savoy Dr, 77036 zip code.

Where is Sring located? North, south, east or west of Houston?

Do any of the realtors on here know which areas are holding their values best?

Do you realize how many cultures and languages are in Europe?

Let me just give you an example, this is the 23 players that represented France in the 2010 World Cup.
Obviously, all of them are French.
I am Spanish, Jewish, English, Norweign, Irish and German. My husband is Polish, German, French-Canadian and Cuban. We're truly Heinz 57!
We both speak Spanish and German. =)

[Mod cut: orphaned. This post has been deleted ]

77036 if i'm not mistaken is Sharpstown area zip code. (Not a safe area)

People have suggested Bellaire city area is a good start. What about West University, Memorial areas both of with are inside the 610 loop.

You can be descendant of 100s of nationalities,
I don't think that a person can truely have more than 2-3 cultures.

I don't mind white people, they are pretty cool people. Except when they think everyone of a certain race has the same personality. LOL! Not that I'm racist! I voted for a white person once! I have a black friend!

There are a lot of expats in Katy (various) and also Lakes on Eldridge.
Honestly though, why do you want to be near similar people? Immerse yourself in Houston - I think you'll find it a much nicer place to be than hanging in areas where people will come and go as their secondment ends. Where I live there's a real mix (people of African American, Indian, Hispanic, American and British descent) all of whom are professional families. It's a great place to live. Don't limit yourself.

Katy will have all types of people. You're not going to like all the Indian and Asians you will see at HEB or at La Centerra.
