Lots of people go to chains because they are affordable dining for everyone including those on a tight budget. Not everyone can afford to take their families to some of the nicer, private restaurants in Houston. So if they find food they like, its affordable and they enjoy it and have fun - why knock it. It may not be for everyone, but others love it.
