I think the confusion rests in the fact that there's a neighborhood in Katy called "West Memorial" that Guerilla is referring to vs. the area generally known as West Memorial Area (Stratford HS zone) which is actually part of the Memorial area (though the 77024 "types" would argue differently).

No there is only one West Memorial, sorry. It ranges from the Beltway to Highway 6. Its the 77079 zip. Most Houstonians even won't consider anything west of Eldridge, West Memorial because its not zoned to SBISD. Where Memorial Drive ends so does the term Memorial anything.
I have siblings that live in Wilchester and they lovingly call it the Memorial Ghetto for the sake of the 77024-ers. But if you say "West Memorial" people know its the area just outside the Beltway.

I've never heard of a subdivision in Katy called West Memorial, Mr. Football. I guess that would lead to the confusion.

I hadn't either until Guerilla brought it up...and sure enough. There is. Still, most would identify West Memorial as the area between the Beltway and Hwy 6 bordered by I-10 and Buffalo Bayou.

The one "negative" associated with Bridgelands (other than the obvious inconvenience of commuting back and forth on the Northwest Freeway) is that because of its newness, a lot of the trees in the area haven't matured, so the landscape can appear pretty desolate the further south on Fry Road from 290 you go.

True. While I prefer the wooded North side of 290, I do really like what they've done in Bridgelands with the few mature oaks they do have as well as the sculpted "roll" they added to the landscape in Bridgelands. That along with the thousands of trees they've planted make for a very pleasant look. I'm sure they'll continue this throughout the community as it gives it some interesting features. The large park area in Bridgeland where they preserved the woods along Cypress Creek is beautiful.

I've not traveled much of the site yet but I understand they've also done a great job with the man-made lakes.

I'm positive. Its just off of Mason Road and is along Kingsland Boulevard. There is a sign saying "West Memorial". Katy I.S.D. even has a West Memorial Elementary and a West Memorial Junior High in the neighborhood.

Default "West Memorial"

West Memorial is a subdivision on the South side of Katy right off of Mason Road. The home prices start about $85,000 and go to around $110,000.
