My husband and I just moved to the Cypress area in July from Beaumont, due to my husband retiring. We are currently renting an apartment for now, but are looking to buy a home in the price range of $170-$190. We have spent quite a bit of time driving around Cypress to the different neighborhoods to get the feel of where we might want to settle in our home. We found the Villages of Cypress Lakes the other day and saw that a builder called Lake Ridge Builders was building out there. We really liked the homes that we saw there and what we could get in our price range. We also like the fact that we would be linked into the Fairfield subdivision and would be able to utilize all the amenities they have to offer. Does anyone have information on that builder? Are they a good builder? Any problems with your home if built by them? Do you like the Villages of Cypress Lakes subdivision? Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Default Villages of Cypress Lakes

I would stay away from this builder. We wasted four months with Briarwood (same company) which is located on the other side of Lake Ridge. A week before closing a post tension cable used in the slab foundation was exposed in the garage. They simply patched it and that was unacceptable according to the PEs we talked to. Now the house is listed for sale and have not disclosed this. They were very difficult to deal with. I would not recommend this builder. You do get a lot for your money but may pay for it in the long run. If you do go with this builder just try to stay on top of the process. We are now looking for another home. Unfortunately, buying a new home turned out to be a nightmare. I'm glad this problem was located before we closed on the home and faced potential foundation problems.

what do you mean by this? I do not believe you get access to Fairfield pools, etc by living in another community ..

It depends on whether or not the communities are linked. Our subdivision in Southwyck is linked to Silverlake and facilities are shared with all residents of both communities.
