That isnt good city planning. There isn't enough density or job centers along the Grand Parkway. Good city planning is leaving space for a rail line next to the Westpark Tollway. That's why its so narrow through W/SW Houston.

That's bad, too. You're not going to stop people from moving to the areas along the GP. We don't want to be Atlanta. There just needs to be a healthy mix of freeways, rail, and buses, and that is happening.

Ok,
let's wait until it's very dense and then start trying to find a way to make space for it.
You know how good that's worked out for pretty much every city in the country.

I disagree. You are enabling more people the opportunity to move out there with shorter commute times and they will continue to do so. Things need to happen INSIDE 610. There is no healthy mix of rail. The East line isn't enough and the University line hasn't been started, and there's no commuter/heavy rail.

You don't need rail in every inch of a metro area. People using the GP aren't going to use rail. It's a bypass route... Don't worry though, the Gp will have its own commuter rail stop at 290.

Yes, because everything is built overnight.

(Inb4 the freeways are)

Rail systems take time. Especially when they are being olaced in already urban areas.

It is built overnight not technically speaking but how much controversy is surrounding light rail expansion but not freeway expansion?

You know what makes that debate even funnier...
the 100s of miles of railroad tracks that go through our city.

It's only good for businesses, but not for people

And some of them aren't in use, I'm guessing.
