Check out the NE side of Houston -- lots of great homes in that budget range, good elementary schools, lots of families in similar situations. My wife and I moved into Eagle Springs about a year ago and absolutely love it.

I'm amazed at the instant attitude, too. The original question was vague at best, and Chery was simply trying to get more clarification to offer help, as this is her expertise. Lighten up.

Cheryjones is nothing but helpful on this forum so your attacks are unwarranted. Houston is a huge area and there are literally thousands of homes that could meet your criteria here.

Thanks for those few individuals that actually responded with valid advice/suggestions. I'm not going to get into some big debate on he said/she said. That really must have been the best advice I've ever seen from someone that "contributes" so much to these threads. Wow, I really did not know to look for a short term apartment lease and then look around at the neighborhoods while I leased. The best advice ever!

To everyone else... seriously?? You must not have enough to do on your labor day weekend but to get involved in some meaningless drama. Take care everyone and have a great labor day weekend! Needless to say, I will not find meaningful contributions on this thread.

A shame you feel that way because you can learn quite a bit on here if you just give it a chance and not out right attack people who were just trying to help you. Search some of the hoods on here that you are interested in and I am sure those searches will bring up may threads for you to go thru. Some larger communities across Houston that may interest you are Cinco Ranch, Oakhurst, Fall Creek, Summerwood, South Shore Harbor, and Eagle Springs to just name a few.

Not to interfere, but OK. This response is where it really got off-course. I think the OP laid it out quite well. Maybe the "smackeroo" emoticon was a bit much, but this is a Native Texan, lookin' to move back home for heaven's sake...give her some slack!

The husband is a Native, but she's almost....come on!

SERIOUSLY? You should take a look at you own posts. You started the drama with the at CJ and then continued to attack her. This isn't a courtroom.

Cheryl may have missed the budget & work location BUT was it in the very original post or added after the fact so not seen by Cheryl when she made her reply?

Whatever the case may be, it certainly didn't necessitate copping an attitude (native Texan or not). You laid the sarcasm down pretty thick. That won't get you a whole lot of help here.

You're right - there probably won't be much meaningful contribution to your queries. I'm sure you'll do just fine without help from the folks on c-d.

Last edited by Sampaguita; 09-03-2011 at 08:54 PM.. Reason: clarifying budget & location not in the OP's original post

Again.............this is a negative, sassy, "dis" to the OP. Maybe she (cheryjons) needs to read more thoroughly........with her glasses on! Am I the only one who has a clue where the OP is "coming from?"

Vital info was added later

Still - the whole thing about "offering my services". I maintain a site that the apartment locators use - for the convenience of my clients. Several past clients have children that need the info (read: thank God they are leaving the nest). I have probably given out a list 30 times or more from city-data people. Have they used it? I assume so. I don't make any money from it and don't keep up with what they are doing. Obviously a vey bad business plan from a "trolling" realtor.

I have also done CMAs for peoplet iher fighting their taxes. It takes precious little time from me and might help them - again at no cost.

Not everything is about money - sometimes you help because you simply can.

However, I am suspicious about people who are suspicious - I think that is projection.
