Well, we have our U by Moen and I would like to get some value out of our old faucet. Donating it won't get us even close to the dollar value of selling it. Most donations don't actually get sold anyway.
If you're having to resell old faucets to "get some value" out of them, maybe you shouldn't be buying such expensive ones in the first place. And it doesn't matter if the donation is sold or not; you still get the charitable deduction. BTW, our local Restore does a pretty brisk business - I've used them myself to purchase vintage lighting fixtures.

This faucet was installed by our builder. We decided to upgrade to a U by Moen Smart Faucet. Our nearest Restore is quite a distance and it isn't worth it to make a drive just to donate a faucet. We have Goodwill, but I don't think a faucet is anything that they will attempt to sell. Yes, I will get the tax deduction, but I don't think the earned dollar value is as much as selling it.
Realize that your time has a value as well. If it’s a builder-grade used faucet, that wouldn’t even be worth my time to do anything but trash it, TBH.

Delta is at least a quality brand that many buyers would probably be looking for. If it were Glacier Bay or some no-name off-brand then it probably wouldn't be worth selling.

You'll never get $85 for a used mismatched faucet set. Some sucker MIGHT pay $40, then figure in shipping and Ebay fees and you'll net about $15. You can't be that desperate to waste so much time and effort for a few bucks.

Nobody shopping for used faucets on eBay gives one lick of a rat’s behind what the brand is.

I'm looking at eBay sold comps without the deck plate, and my price is well within the range of what sold. 100% of the users here are knowingly and intentionally being dishonest.

That would include you as well then. What many of us are pointing out is that the math just doesn’t balance.

I can sell without the deck plate and list the deck plate separately. I'm not going to sell below sold comps just because of a mismatched deck plate, since most of these sellers didn't include a deck plate at all.

At this rate, you’ve already lost massive amounts of money/time on the deal, so why not.
