Our breakfast nook faces the back wooded area but in summer around 5:30pm the sun glares right in making the family squint thru dinner. I purchased "honeycomb" type shades from jc penney that you pull straight down w/ no cords and push up and the stack to top about 2"....I plan to cover the top w/ fabric cornice eventually, but they don't look bad stacked up. I bought (2) premade shades for about $20 each, but I know they have an endless array via internet/catalog. They are up 99% of the time so we can see the woods.
