I think Leighton is to goaltending what Freddy Mitchell is to receivers. He'll have a couple good postseason games but he's nothing more than an average backup in regular season terms.
I hear the FO talk about how they're molding this team after the Broad Street Bullies yet they conveniently forget the fact those teams had one of the best goalies ever in Bernie Parent. They have a lot of good talent locked up (Richards, Carter, Giroux, JVR, etc) but have no serious plan for GT. It's tough to make long term judgements in the NHL but with the pisspoor management of this FO I really think this was a one-time opportunity for the Flyers
