Simon and Big Wheels were '60s things? I thought big wheels were a '70s thing and Simon was an '80s deal...but my memory isn't always accurate.

What toys and games do you remember from the 60's and 70's?

60s -

Skateboard - 1963 - it had metal roller skate wheels on it and was about 1/3 the size of later skateboards.

Troll Dolls
Slinky
Chess [timeless but we played a lot]
Mousetrap
Twister
Game of Life
Roller Skates that were metal with a key and went on over the tennis shoes
Hula Hoops
Frisbees
Barbie, Ken, Skipper, and some more
Playing Battleship on graph paper
That game where you connect the dots and put your initial in the square
Motoriffic Cars [I loved those things and did all kinds of stuff with the little motors]
Model trains and Christmas Gardens
Lincoln Logs
Tinkertoys
Wooden blocks that were like legos with the pegs but not legos
BB guns
Flubber [but they took that away fast - first childhood toy recall I remember]
Erection Sets
Silly Putty

--and the list goes on.

Poor, Pitiful Pearl doll.

First off I wasn't a doll kind of little girl. Then my Mom gives me this doll that is dressed in rags, for pity's sake. Just looking at her made me burst into tears I felt so sorry for her. And this was a doll that was kind of "the" doll to have. Years later I read that Princess Grace give one to her daughters.

My Mom finally took pity on me (her heart was in the right place, I'll give her that) and put it in the Goodwill bag.

I did.... I even commented on your spirograph mention My point is that Simon is a 70's toy: Retro Thing: Milton Bradley's Simon - Simple And Addictive Electronic Gaming

The year was 1978. Disco was in full force, and Milton Bradley released a spaceship shaped electronic game with four lighted color buttons. The game was Simon, and this little UFO was one of the hottest toys of the late 1970s.

Barbies, complete with the car, the Barbie Dream House, the airplane and the Barbie Country Camper and she also had a horse. I also loved my Lite-Brite, my bike (A Schwinn) and my Easy-Bake Oven.
