I'm having a "hair crisis" myself. I have long, thick black hair down to my waist. I love my hair, but I am a total dork when it comes to doing anything with it. I mean, I don't know how to do an updo or anything different with it. Basically, I wear it down, or in a ponytail or I pull the sides back and clip them in the back and leave the rest long. It takes FOREVER to straighten. I've tried to do the curly thing, but my hair is more frizzy than curly. I bought some curling shampoo and conditioner and tried that and it made my hair flatter and straighter than it's ever been! Yesterday my son was almost late for school because we left the house late because I was trying to fix my hair.

I am seriously thinking about cutting it since I don't know how to put it up myself and because it takes such a long time to dry and flat iron every morning. When I am competing, the long hair comes in handy because I have somebody else doing my hair and makeup and they can do a lot with all that hair! I'm torn. It seems so silly, but it is a decision that has to be well thought out. It takes a long time to grow hair this long, and once it's gone - it's gone. If I do decide to cut it, I will donate it to Locks of Love or some organization that uses the hair for cancer patients.

So, help me out here folks - cut it or leave it long???

Merkin! That's a vocabulary word that makes this old thread worth digging out of the archives.

is it long enough to cut what Locks of Love requires, yet still be long?
I like long hair, at least shoulder length. Few people can carry off a truly short hair style.

Has anyone else had this weird happening?

I wear very short hair, but most guys today are wearing that stupid skater/emo hairstyle.

I did have long hair there for a while, a few months ago. But I bleached it blonde for a while and it was starting to look like crap. So, I got my hair cut just a month ago. I'm starting over, but I'm never bleaching it blonde again, ever.

Just had 4" cut off last week and it's currently (after the cut) to the top of my butt crack. I love my long hair and won't cut it off for love or money.

Starting to get a few silvers here and there, and they are staying, no plucking, no dying, no nothing but letting them be.

I haven't had long hair since I was like 11 years old, but I'm finally growing it out again. I think it looks so much better now that it's long again.
