Kmart in Anderson will shrink soon
Kmart #7754, Boulevard Market Fair, 3801-B Clemson Boulevard, Anderson, South Carolina 29621-1318, has ran its course. I doubt a reduction in size will keep it open.

I wonder how Kmart #4016, Kmart Plaza, 1 Kmart Plaza, Greenville, South Carolina 29605-4442, is doing with the closing of BI-LO #5016, 6 Kmart Plaza, Greenville, South Carolina 29605-4442. Foot traffic is lost with the closing of an adjacent supermarket.

I was just at the Kmart plaza Bi Lo tonight. Only the pharmacy is closed. The store is still chugging along.

Default BI-LO #5016, Kmart Plaza, 6 Kmart Plaza, Greenville, South Carolina 29605-4442

It makes sense for BI-LO #5016 to remain open through Christmas and New Year's Day, then close in January. This has been the practice with other BI-LO stores that have closed.

If Sears Holdings owns that Kmart Plaza on Church Street they could very well have other plans for it and the BI-LO space. They are divesting property like crazy to stay afloat.

Doesn't mean it will not cease to be a retail center in the future especially with the states of Kmart and BI-LO. I could see the hospital system interested in it, long term health care facility built there or apartments- because of it's close proximity to downtown.

I would not mind having another supermarket or trying a hypermarket at Kmart Plaza. If I lived in Dunean or in Chanticleer, I would have to drive to Augusta Street, downtown, White Horse Road, or Powdersville for groceries.

Good news for the Harris Teeter going up on Augusta Street or the Publix on McBee.

Harris Teeter at Lewis Plaza should be an easier, fresher, and more affordable grocery option.

Haagen Dazs ice cream shop coming soon to Haywood. Also, Roll Creamery now open in the food court.
