At the risk of sounding like a complete jerk, I'd like to point out that the post directly above yours, posted just 5 hours prior, says "nothing new with bass pro". My guess is that nothing changed in that timeframe.

Based on a very similar situation, probably not.

This may explain why it's taking so long. Sewer.

"Commission approve obtaining rights-of-way utilizing the Law of Eminent Domain"

At least it seems to be moving forward still. How long might this take?

Section 8 has for more info. at this link

Typical government! But I still don't think they are coming. I mean, slow progress because of a sewer line issue, nah. If they were coming, it would have been taken care of by now.

Part of it may also be in trying to buy Cabela's given one so close in Greenville. Cabela's is looking for additional potential buyers currently. Given BPS past promise of opening stores in other cities and never doing so I'm not putting much faith into the project until I see earth movers on site.

I guess now that they own the property, the choice of go or no go is just another day to day business decision. They will either come here or they won't.

Have you ever tried to get easements for a utility line? Some people will not sell after lengthy negotiations and eminent domain can take a year to settle.

In fact I have been through all of this. IF the gov wants it bad enough, they will make sure the process is fast enough to get the job done/ business in there.

It is a lengthy progress when easements are a factor. It took our family 3 years when the expansion of I-85 and 101 took place due to the court.
