1. Is there a clear western horizon sky view from the top of paris mountain?
2. How do you get there? I thought it was by going into the park but that was a dead end.

Thanks guys!

Yes there is. Tower Road off Altamont Road is how you get there. Google Maps is the best way to find it. Here is the view: http://www.flickr.com/photos/geoman78/3281481285/

We made the drive up Altamont rd last weekend and the views are amazing! We heard that the peak was private property so we stayed on the rd. There is a few spots that a car can pull of to take in the views, just make sure its not on someone's drive or grass. Another thing you need to be aware of are the numerous cyclist that ride up and down Altamont. Most were pretty curteous to let us pass them, but a few almost got run over for careless behavior.

What was their careless behavior?

Weaving back and forth from the side of the rd to the middle, he should've either let us pass or stay in the middle like normal traffic! Another cyclist kept creeping up on my bumper, he is lucky I didn't have to slam on my brakes.

I haven't been up there in a couple years. Have they installed the gate up there, that was talked about, to block it off? We wanted to take some out of town guests up to see it.

Not sure about the gate yet (I do know that bids went out for construction earlier this year), but as of a couple of weeks ago there are signs posted stating that it's closed.
