Why?
If those countries want to better themselves they should be able to figure out how to do it all by themselves without any other country telling them how they should be living and doing things.

Colonialism never ended...
The states of the USA were all acquired under the USA government..How the USA came to be was a process of colonialism. All wars are a matter of colonialism,,It's need to acquire assures us of that...
As for your poor countries,,for the most part they are prevented by prosperous countries.

Probably not a majority, but some would.

Another case in point:

It shows a crowd of Haitians begging to become a US territory.

Many of France's former Sub-Saharan African colonies are independent in name only, and in reality they are still run from Paris, with local elites taking orders from the Quai d'Orsay, and the Legion still stationed in those nations.

I believe that Iraq and Afghanistan would both choose independence rather than continue as American colonies. They wouldn't miss their puppet governments.

If a majority of countries are fine with being independent, then maybe the issue isn't with those countries. Maybe it is with those who have a desire to rule over other nations. No one rules over other nations for the benefit of that nation. It does so to take from that nation.

And how many Haitians really want to be a USA territory? Can you prove a majority want this?

Yes.

Italy should take over Libya, England should seize Egypt, and France, Algeria. Maybe Ottomans could be found to resume control of the Levant, Mesopotamia and Greece. Yemen, the Horn and other areas are less urgent.

This would be for the good of the people who live there and for the world. Ever since those people have run their own countries they've ruined them. That's their prerogative. But now the consequences of their folly are spreading to their neighbors, who have the right to remove the trouble at its source.

What makes you think that we haven't replaced muskets with drones and M-16s

Obviously, you missed the fact that colonialism is a major reason why "many Third World countries have proven that they are incapable of governing themselves properly". These countries were economically exploited by the European and American nations that controlled them. Local rulers and government structures were destroyed, and most native peoples were not allowed to participate in government. In some places, European settlers displaced native peoples and turned the natives into a permanent underclass if they survived at all.
