It depends on what you call pests. I guess in dense cities where all the trees have been axed you wont have to deal with as many mosquitoes and spiders but you will have rats, roaches, and stray cats.
I've never been to the Pacific NW unfortunately but I'm surprised to hear they don't have many insects, snakes, rodents being that they have lots of forest and water over there.

PNW has plenty of rats and mice. They have all the nooks and crannies they need in vegetation, some people's houses and sheds, and boats. Oh, doubtless in some cars also. Many homes have crawl spaces that aren't well-sealed.
