The May Owen Center (south of the Omni Hotel) is finally on the market.

Many are speculating that this block will be used by the Omni as an expansion.

Last week I was driving to work passing 30 heading eastbound and the old T&P Station was being worked on, on top. Seemed as if they were installing AC units? anybody heard anything? Last I heard Cleopatra the parent company that owned the building was bound to get in some trouble for (I can't recall if its misuse of tax grants to revitalize and/or frequently asking for tax credits but not meeting their end of the deal) hopefully one day well see that building restored to its former glory.

Just rectifying code violations, part of which is putting a new roof on the building. It’s mostly just being dried in. The basement has been filling up with water repeatedly over the years.

NOT good news for the Panther Island Project.

Fort Worth’s $1B Panther Island project quietly cut from 2018 federal budget

Quote:
Congress approved the so-called Panther Island project for up to $526 million in federal funding in 2016, but the money must be doled out over time in separate spending bills. The Army Corps and White House budget office, run by South Carolina conservative Mick Mulvaney, then have some leverage in deciding which projects are chosen to actually receive money.

“The administration does not consider the [Panther Island] project to be policy compliant for budgeting because of the lack of an economic analysis,” said Corps spokesman Eugene Pawlik. “The project did not receive fiscal 2018 Civil Works funding and is not in the president’s fiscal 2019 Civil Works budget.”
