I saw that they had the intention of building townhomes (which I am all for, I think at our citys age we should begin building up not out) But how does that work for the people who currently live there? Are they forced out of their homes or what? Specificially on Hemphill across from the Private Catholic School.
Pretty sure the city pays off the people living on that section of the road. It won't be the entire neighborhood like you'll be seeing with parts of West 7th, but that strip is going to be dramatically different.

I also think eminent domain would come into play, but the families should be taken care of. I doubt there would be that many, so it shouldn't be too much an issue.

Awesome, even though those houses are beautiful the current owner(s) (I feel horrid saying it) neglected them badly. Even if they were restored Hemphill isn't what it was 70,80 or even 90 years ago when these houses were built, it is much too congested with traffic for any type of residential that isn't townhome, condo, loft, or apartments. I wish the city would have included Victory Forest Park on Biddison, maybe have built some more nice townhomes there. That long strip of green land is filled with massive potential for development as well. Can't wait to see the progress. Thanks again for your replies and posts! Cheers.

Anytime.

Yeah, a lot of those houses were left to rot. It's a shame, too. But that's just the reality of living in a city.

Fort Worth-based Frank Kent Motor Co. owners Will Churchill and Corrie Watson are expanding their iconic brand in the bustling Near Southside neighborhood with the purchase of three commercial buildings, two of which are historic.

I wouldn't hold my breath, man.

They may keep SOME, but I doubt it'll be more than 5.

There has to be one more big announcement this month for it to be Fort Worth biggest July ever. It almost the end of the month and I'm growing skeptical.

I am guessing one of these 3.

1. Convention Center Remodel, or complete tear down
2. New Skyscraper
3. DreamVision theme park may not be a scheme/fraud after all. lol
