I am trying to eat better as a rule. This is hard because I like interesting things to eat and drink.

Does anyone know of a breakfast, lunch or dinner smoothie that doesn't take hard to find ingredients?

Skoe, I'm all about fitness and trying at least to eat healthy. I have a protein drink/smoothie daily if not twice a day. I love em. However trying not to be full of processed sugars is one of the key elements.

May I suggest some of the following books, which are great guides for healthy diets and have smoothie recipes.

"Eating for Life" by Bill Phillips
"Power Eating" by Dr. Susan M Kleiner
"Supercut" Nutrition for the Ultimate Physique by Dr. Joyce Vedral and Bill Reynolds

Just to name a few.

Yes, I forgot to mention the very little sugar part of it.

Thanks for the list!

Mine is super duper easy:

Stick in your blender: Some frozen fruit. A ripe banana. Add some milk. Blend. Voila!! The less milke you put, the thicker the smoothie.

The banana, when ripe, gives it a really SWEET flavor without adding any sugar. Trust me. It's SOOOO sweet. If the banana isn't too ripe, I put a cup of yogurt (vanilla yoplait) in, too. No added sugar ... at all! It's great.

As for fruit, I buy whatever is available frozen: strawberry, mango, peach, berry are all good choices. If you try it, let me know how you like it!

Plain yogurt is a good-tasting, nutritious ingredient as well.
You can buy protein powder, gingko (sp?) and that kind of stuff at health food stores.

One of our favorite smoothies:

1 small container plain yogurt
16 oz. fresh or frozen raspberries/strawberries
1 banana
3/4 cup orange juice
1/2 cup crushed ice
1 tablespoon honey

I make smoothies a lot (understatement).

I always use:
1. Plain yogurt
2. Fresh fruits
3. If sugar is needed, use natural sugar and/or honey (never artifical sweetners).
4. Current favorites: strawberries and bananas; papya
5. I will add milk for a little liquid or water.

Keep it natural. Enjoy!!

Hey, thanks for the recipes! The kids and I are going to try them today.

What about the grass shots you can get at booster juice? That isn't just normal lawn grass is it?

I heard of that but I don't think it's just "reguarl" grass. It's like wheat grass or something.

Skoe, find your favorite smoothie and add a teaspoon or so of wheat germ for a nutty flavor - delish!
