The debate never ends
My bro says if you need sauce it's not a good cut of steak anyway. I disagree. I can take a $50. steak at a fancy steak house and smother it in steak sauce. I just like how they taste together.
Eh, a lot of you guys have been to some pretty upscale steakhouses. I personally haven't. The most I've ever paid for a steak at a restaurant was $20, with sides. I personally like it without any sauce unless it's not seasoned well. A good ribeye or porterhouse seasoned well is great. Never had strips or filet mignon.
Well, really, it depends on the steak. An excellent, aged cut of meat, at Ruth Chris, or Mortons, just a touch of freshly ground pepper. The meat from Outback, slather on the sauce.
If I spilled a little ketchup on my steak I'd toss it! Having said that my kids could put Ketchup on ice cream! Nothing or steak sauce certainly no ketchup on my steak..ever! Heinz 57 as a kid and now A-1.
The only thing I ever put on steak is salt and pepper and have fried onions on the side.
I'm very fussy about steak and will only eat it if it's cooked outside and I never ever order steak at a restaurant, though I would if I went someplace like Peter Lugers...
Salt! A good addition though, is sauteed onions and mushrooms.
