Last night I had lamb chops with a simple sauce (minced onion, butter, garlic, a tiny bit of wine & lemon juice) and roasted potatoes with Tone's rosemary-garlic seasoning ...



It was a great meal, but I remembered again why I rarely have lamb chops -- they seem to be about 60/40 meat/bone. I bought a couple of packages on sale for $6.99/lb. -- Hannaford's regular price is I think $15.99/lb.!

Happy Independence Day to those in the U.S.! I have this vague memory of a UK newspaper having this headline on July 4, 1976: "Happy birthday USA! Love, Mum." Couldn't find it via google, though.

July 4th BBQ day, except it happens to be the wife’s birthday, so being the good husband that I am, I cooked what she wanted to have on her special day;

Clams, scallops, cod with a garlic butter white wine sauce over spinach fettuccine and a side dish of broccoli-rabe with garlic & oil, her favorite vegetable ❗️
