Pasties! Don't they look nice and fresh?

I see you eat yours with gravy. Whenever we visit SD we always bring home some pasties with us. The little company makes them in half moons.

They must have had a few middle European miners out there as on Thursdays their special was Polish sausage and sauerkraut, my favorite. Now they distribute all their flavors to various gas stations and grocery stores. Used to be sold out of a bakery right across the road from the Lead gold mine.

DH is thawing a pork butt and soon we will be eating one of those meals it is only possible for us to have near the late summer. That's a meal full of fresh garden vegetables.

We have eggplant, beets, green beans, sweet corn and tomatoes. Next week I'll be looking at the cabbage and new potatoes. It's a slice of heaven.

Ordered two pecks of pickling cucumbers. Didn't think I'd ever pickle again but I'm missing the flavor of a good homemade pickle like grandma used to make.

I am having a homemade hamburger with garden tomatoes and butter lettuce on a bun. As a side I have some of the chickpeas in a can from Trader Joes -- they have cumin and parsley in olive oil and are quite good. A big fresh peach for dessert with another scoop of the Blue Bell strawberry ice cream -- it takes a while to finish that half gallon (they still offer a full half gallon unlike most of the other ice cream manufacturers).

Chicken cutlets, black eyed peas, leftover rice, some jazzed up left over corn and a nice garden salad.

Pizza - me: one of those thin ones. Forgot brand but I liked the one I had the previous week better. Mr C opted for a thicker one but not because it was thick. It was one of those spicy pizzas.

To drink: Mt Dew Baha Blast

Dessert: 1 thin mint.
