Tonight was a celebration of my mother's 88th birthday, and we celebrated with dinner at Brio Tuscan Italian. I had lasagna (bolognese sauce), fried calamari (regular and spicy marinara), iced tea, and red wine. And for dessert, I had molten chocolate cake with vanilla gelato.
Dinner from the freezer: Sausage and mustard pie topped with puff pastry, side of avocado and tomato salad.
Perfect for a cold day in North Carolina
Tomorrow we cook a 14 lb turkey just for the 2 of us. We love turkey and it won't be served at Christmas dinner we're going to. Lots of leftovers for the freezer for future casseroles and soups. Last time turkey tetrazzini was one of the dishes.
