I forgot and rubbed my eye, couldn't open it, the surrounding skin is red, and my nose was running like crazy. I should look lovely when DH gets home.
Prevention is worth a pound of cure. Gloves. Then there are some hot peppers that eat through kitchen gloves. Same when picking okra but I forget.

Tonight we had a tater tot casserole with sweet corn.

Last night's dinner was courtesy of the Chinese kitchen: egg drop soup, mu shu pork, and mixed steamed veggies.

remnants of Harvey pouring down on me today, so no grilling out to start the holiday weekend. On the menu: pan-seared rockfish, corn on the cob, and collard greens, with fresh peaches & cream for dessert.

Tonight we are grilling marinated chicken thighs. I am also making a corn and tomato salad. Thanks DawnMTL for the recipe. It looks really good.

Here is a really tasty appetizer recipe -

In a blender, puree a well drained 10 oz jar roasted red peppers, 1/4 C walnuts, 1 T balsamic vinegar and 1/2 t cumin.

Serve with pita chips or crackers.

Also good on toast.

Important to drain peppers well.

Oh, sweetie, can you really call that salad a "recipe"? It's corn, avocado, and tomatoes... in a bowl... with or without dressing. (If you stir it enough that the avocado "creams" then you don't need dressing. Otherwise, use very little -- a little goes a long way.) But it *is* yummy -- I make it all the time.

Tonight I'm baking boneless/skinless chicken thighs in with a dijon mustard/Mayo/Olive Oil/ and lemon sauce. To cut the tartness of that sauce, Imma serve with a little stuffing on the side and some sauteed brussel sprouts.

Some great ideas on this thread!
