I just put a ham in the crockpot, along with orange juice and honey. Sure hope it turns out ok. We'll round it out with fresh green and yellow beans that I got at the farmers market. Not sure what else.

Sounds good to me nms; When I did my "carnitas" it was boston butt simmered in 2 cups of OJ and 1 cup of water for 2 hours and then another hour on med to boil down the liquid till it was a golden reduction of juice and pork fat.... I put a stick cinnamon and a bay leaf in with pork....but I think you have to be careful with spices in the crock pot? I seem to remember they intensify?????

Elston, thanks for the vote of confidence. I was going to put in 1/2 teaspoon of ground cloves in, but I couldn't find them in the spice cupboard. (Don't tell anyone, but I didn't look real hard - I'm not a big cloves fan! sssshhhhhhh!)
My dinner has been changed from homemade pizza and salad to cooking the dough as a laf of bread because I am headed out to the Casino with my daughter....woohoo

Sounds like a wonderful meal - (I am not a clove fan either!)

Have fun and hope you win - or at least break even!
Thanks...just going for a few hours to get out. Love nights out with my daughter one on one.
Hubster was invited but declined.
