The one we had up north was a Maytag. Really loved it. This one down here is a GE Profile. Really, REALLY love this one. Both were/are glass tops. The GE has the keep-it-warm burner and also a "bridge" burner for when we make gravy with a roasting pan. I am spoiled.
You are lucky! I want the dual fuel one someday. If we ever stop moving and I can get my dream kitchen.
Shrimp risotto. Got the shrimp from Whole Foods, and it was just OK. Made a shrimp stock with the shells, and used it for the risotto. It turned out well, but I was going to add mushrooms too and I completely forgot about them.

My son does that with the shrimp shells; he cooks them in a little oil in a big fry pan and then adds stock and cooks them down and strains them out. I didnt know others did that.
Happy Saturday evening everyone.
Elston we have the Maytag Gemini double gas oven with the regular and convection oven on the bottom, 5 gas burner. Absolutely love it. I have only cleaned it once since getting it 4 months ago and it was horrible, windows open etc. I will be cleaning it again sometime this week, so I will let you know about the smell.
Tonight I tried a new recipe. I made Panko breaded stuffed baked pork chops with a traditional bread stuffing. Sauteed Fingerling potatoes with red pearl onions, baby brussel sprouts and then steamed in chicken broth and topped with crisp smoked bacon pieces and fresh Italian parsley. Hubby really liked dinner. Dessert in awhile, Tiramisu for him, NY cheescake for me. Have a wonderful night for everyone, see you tomorrow. kelsie
Kelsie - You have me thinking about cheesecake now. REAL cheesecake. Hmmmmm. I may have to order one from Junior's in Brookyln and have it shipped. (Yes, I have done that before.) Their strawberry cheesecake is th BEST.

I know this is sacrilege to most people, but I'm very happy with electric cooktop. I hate gas. Electric's what I grew up with. DH convinced me when we bought our first house to go w/gas and I don't think I've forgiven him yet.
Well, maybe....
