Looking for a place where the fear of burglaries, home invasions, robberies, etc. doesn't really exist. Keep in mind, it needs to be a place where you don't have to be rich to live.

1. What's "rich"? Price range for home/rent?
2. Fear of crime is different from presence of crime. You would be hard pressed to find a place where burglaries are flat out nonexistent, but plenty where you don't have to worry too much.

I don't mean to make it hard, but what parts of Florida would you be interested in? I can recommend several places just in my area.

Anywhere really...I'm more interested in somewhere on the gulf coast but if you have some areas in Broward I can look at I definetly wouldn't mind. And I want relative safety when I'm travelling around the area too, not just in the area I live in. Meaning, I won't have to think about protecting myself much.

Broward- you can look into the general west Broward area. From a "passing through" standpoint you will be fine almost anywhere except for a few avoidable spots. From a residence standpoint, I would say you have the entire area west of University Drive from Pembroke Pines up to Coral Springs, and you also have Miramar west of Red Road (and to be controversial but honest, you have some of east Pembroke Pines and Miramar on the lower priced side too) and Coconut Creek, Margate, and western Deerfield. Even in Weston (generally considered to be an "upper middle class" area), believe it or not, you could find a small 1990s built house priced in the low 200s and have a generally high quality of life with low crime and high rated schools. Broward gets a bad rap and does tend to be somewhat crowded, but you can really do far worse. I'll give you an idea of what to expect for the price.

Here is a smaller 1970s ranch home in Cooper City, an area known for high quality of life and low crime.

Smaller, newer house in a nice community in Davie.

Gulf Coast- Naples area doesn't have much crime, neither does Bonita Springs, Estero, Cape Coral, Port Charlotte, North Port, Venice, most outskirts of Sarasota, etc. Also a lot quieter than Broward.

Many areas of Sarasota County on up through Citrus County on the Gulf Coast would meet your criteria.
It all depends on what kind of work you are looking for.

Yeah I would recommend Sarasota county. Most areas are within 35 minutes to the beaches. You can pick up a newer 3/2 home for under $100K. The schools are great, the beaches are beautiful. Check out North Port specifically.

Check out Hobe Sound, we are on the north edge of Jonathan Dickinson state park, 8 miles south of Stuart.

Actually FLA17, your question won't provide many answers. I have found that on a national scale an area might rate as a crime factor of 9 (real high) and the people are "what crime?" ..... you'd be better served looking at these types of metrics to answer your questions. Including that Florida's 4 major real estate markets have landed into the top 10 of Forbes most over priced metro areas.....
