Don't even look in the Keys unless you have at least $1million in your pocket....

...and even with that, you won't get much

Look at the pricing trends on Singer Island, Fisher Island, Palm Beach, Jupiter Island, Miami Beach, ect.. They are going straight up.

They've been going up for decades, and will continue to go up as long as we are all alive.
We don't have to worry about rise. But people down the pike mike will out past 70 years.

I have a friend that bought a $1M+ home near mile marker 1 about 3 years ago, & while the pics looked nice it wasn't extravagant.

He's a huge Lib, but evidently he isn't buying in to the sea level rise hype.

He has a condo in Manhattan too, so he's really ignoring the Noah's Ark syndrome junk that the Libs are spewing.

Most wealthy people (aside from so-called celebs and such) are smart enough to know how to research and think for themselves, as opposed to buying anything that is fed to them on social media and msm outlets. Just look at how many poor(er) people lost tons of money buying stock in Gamestop on apps like Robinhood and such... Because Elon Musk went on Twitter saying it was a good idea... People who have NO idea how these things work, but hey, a dude posted something on Twitter, so it HAS to work, right? I know of VERY FEW wealthier people who bought any sort of thing, and those who did, did so minimally, for fun, with throwaway money.

This is why I don't worry about any of the dire predictions. Plus I have lived long enough to have outlived so many false narratives and predictions. OMG, just live your life without all the worry.

Default How long can south Florida prosper in a state of denial?

Of course, the issues described in this Yahoo article today don't apply just to Miami, but to all Florida coastal areas.

As explained in this article, the Army Corps of Engineers Miami sea wall barrier solutions only protect against storm surges. There is no mention in this article of the massive pumping infrastructure, likely larger and more expensive to build and OPERATE, than even New Orleans' massive pumping infrastructure built over decades, needed given the porous limestone bedrock (rockhead) in south Florida. There's no discussion in the article of the increased cost of disposing of sewage and sourcing fresh water in the future.

I'm tired of playing whack-a-fool/Big Lie climate change denier in this generally deceitful forum, but there's no way newcomers to Florida can avoid encroaching reality, especially when it's so blatantly obvious and verifiable.
