It is a yellow belly slider.

It looks to be under two months.

Yes shedding is normal as they grow.

Go easy on the food.

Yea I dont either. A friend of mine told me about this turtle in Cape cod trying to cross the street one time when he was vacationing there and she got hit!!!!!

Poor thing was pregnant!!!!!!! -- Someone took her to a vet and they hand delivered the babies..... 24 made it!! (The mother sadly passed away )

Its amazing they can carry so many eggs @ once!!
