While espadrilles are a great hot weather option, nothing really beats your toesies getting some open air. Avoid flip flops unless you’re walking the dog, taking out the trash, or at the beach. Simpler options like Birkenstock will work with a wider array of styles, while slightly more experimental brands like Suicoke or Malibu may depend on the rest of the outfit. Wear with caution.

Never, ever take any type of advice from anyone using the term "toesies."
Just like women, as long as your feet are clean and cared for you'll feel comfortable and look great in a pair of sandals. For men and women, wearing sandals is only gross if your feet are dirty and gross.
I don't judge a person by their feet/clothing ,oft time circumstances can make what is worn nonreflective of one's true character ,or rather the character you have predetermined by some prejudice.
I am 68 years old and not particularly accustomed to seeing girls with blue or green hair, so In ignorance thought them to be a bit flakey, but taking the time to get to know them I gained a bit more respect for them ignoring the color of their hair and what they do with it .
That being said I think that those with a foot fetish might do well to be patient and not judgmental . I have seen people with special problems that wearing shoes is not an option and their feet are not the average , no different than some one born or having lost a limb .put you self in their shoes . May be try walking in their shoes a mile of so.

Such wisdom is rarely seen on C-D. I agree, I don't think I'd notice a guy's footwear at first; other factors carry more importance.
Way better than crocs!
As classic as converse allstars,Levi's 501s,hanes t shirt.
So,the Birkenstocks are some comfortable long lasting footwear. I own the same pair for 15 years.
Are they a chick magnet? Did not know chicks like sandals on men to begin with.
But ,if you must show your feet, use etiquette. Clip toenails, buff out the white stuff, shave the foot hair. Only wear at the beach or places that are appropriate. A date for dinner is not appropriate.
As long as you don't wear socks with them.
Or have Jesus hair and beard.
