I draw the line at stains that for sure. I think its kinda repulsive looking but even more so if I can't get a stain out I am just p.o.-ed. Into the rag bin it would go. Same thing with anything faded or loosing shape. I have my junk box of clothing though for yard work,moving or painting. I don't buy anything that feels uncomfortable to wear so I don't get drawn to the slob box for daily wear. I used to have old t-shirts for sleeping but those have been replaced with tanks and pj pants or shorts + robes. Jeans with holes..yeah..I do have those. Most people under 70 don't seem repulsed by them.
