i am fairly average sized, proportionate, and moderately fit.
yet when you are going clothes shopping and try on an
unbelievable amount of clothing and most of it, if not all
of it doesn't look good or fit...
well, you get a little cranky lol
Yup. I don't really know who the clothing fits, since everyone I know has problems no matter their body type.
The people that have a slightly easier time seem to be people who have broader shoulders, average size breasts (B to C), and have small, but defined hips. But that's it.
A normal woman who is pear shaped (the most common body type) has a lot of trouble gapping at the waist, thighs are either too loose to too tight.
Clothing manufacturers do not account for breasts, and if you are above a D, too bad for you.
And if you don't have hips or a butt. Too bad again. Or if you have too much butt or hips...oh well.
I don't. 4" is high enough, and I don't like to walk in shoes with a lot of platform, which any shoe of that height would have. And 6" or 7" heels are well into hookerland. A very expensive shoe (hundreds or thousands of dollars) might be okay, but in general you're talking stripper shoes, which are fugly.

I think stripper shoes should be for private use with your partner.

Okay. But 1) I am 6' and do not feel the need to be 6'7" unless it's part of a costume and 2) my husband doesn't care about shoes in the least, so 3) I do not spend money on stripper shoes. Also 4) most of them are very clunky and would make me look like Frankenstripper.

I did say that shoes that height that are pretty are usually several hundred dollars or more. I'm surprised that middle pair is 6" high without a platform.

Because they're not very bright, or they don't know many different people. I admit, Tim Gunn and the ***** Eye guys reinforce the stereotype that men who like clothes are faaaaaabulous! but my old roommate is a gay guy from Indiana, and he is the most fashion-clueless hick I know. We're talking a guy who actually owns that T-shirt with the howling wolves on it.
My best friend from college is the least fashion-conscious gay man I've ever met. I love the fact that he turns that stereotype right on its head.
Signed,
Woman without an entire closet full of shoes
