Why do so many women wear pants? (fashion, long, light)

Those Talbots lined wool trousers I snagged for 16.99 each at TJ Maxx last summer, (original tag still on @ $130) along with a pair of tights underneath, are coming in mighty handy!
hmm lets see...
- its cold!
- i dont always have time to shave/wax my legs
- pantyhose can be uncomfortable (and easily pluck/ladder ect)
- i dont want to have to be constantly worried about "sitting correctly" or having to bend over
- they dont make sexy skirts in my size, they either make me look bigger than i am are too long or too short or look like gramma's skirts.
- i cant afford to buy shoes to match with skirts..people are much more aware of shoes matching the outfit when your wearing skirts and dresses.
men, try it out...its called a kilt, they make them in all kinds of sizes...and your supposed to go regimental!

When I was people watching at the airport recently, I noticed that the overwhelming majority of women, even older women were wearing pants. Do pants feel more comfortable than skirts? Why don't more women wear skirts? Is it a matter of staying warm?
Flying - definitely pants. Out dancing - skirt. With a hot guy - a shorter skirt. You want to see women in skirts - get out of the airport.
When you sit down in a skirt it is really uncomfortable. Unless it is one of those huge hippy skirts that go all the way to the ground and allow you to put your legs up without flashing some stranger. Going to the restroom in a long skirt is also a hassle and the edge might fall in the toilet or on some yucky ground gunk.
A miniskirt with leggings is okay though. Comfortable.
My wife only wears dresses. Like the women on TV in the 50's.
She greets me at the door when I arrive with a vodka martini and the newspaper.
I will not tolerate a woman wearing pants!
While I think it's nice that you arrive at your door everyday with a vodka martini & newspaper for your wife, wouldn't flowers be better? They last longer.
