I have read about immigration issues and there seems to be some unease with people about Muslim immigrants. I have read about this in many European countries and in the US it is a problem as well. Mosques have been tagged with graffiti or burned down. I live in the south however and the KKK still holds rallies here.
I guess I just want to make sure that Sweden isn't in any danger of opening one of these any time soon

It seems that Swedes generally lean left. The present government is more to the right. However, when compared to the U.S., Sweden is probably to the far left even with the "conservative" government that is in power.
Swedes want government to control everything and are willing to pay for it. Swedes now pay one of the highest taxes in the world (around 50% or so when you consider all the taxes, income, MOMs, etc.). It is now one of the most expensive countries in the world in which to live in. However, quality of life is generally quite good. So, there are positives and negatives.
